This is an old piece I never got around to posting. Years ago, I went to Japan during the fall season to see kouyou ( 紅葉 ), autumn colors, and it was an amazing experience.
I grew up in a place with no real seasonal change so seeing the vibrant reds and oranges in the countryside of Japan was spectacular.
I also visited the Edo-Tokyo Museum which features fantastic exhibits, one of which is a reconstruction of a bridge with incredible miniature sets showcasing life in feudal Japan.
These experiences inspired this concept piece. I wanted to recreate a snapshot in Edo during fall as a memento to an unforgettable trip.
